When the summer heat strikes – a fruity smoothie is a perfect way to cool down and refuel some energy! Well we know we know that’s at a different point on the scale for everyone. What is your “That is too warm for me” temperature?
And the best thing with a homemade smoothie is, that you can choose how sweet you want it to be.
The fruity flowery taste of the apricots in combination with the sweet and juicy nectarines is the epitome of fruitiness. And the black tea, with its herb sweetness, perfectly adds to that flowery aroma of the apricot and the sweet nectarine. And on top of that, you get a little push from the caffeine of the black tea!
Enjoy!
Rezept for 500 ml:
4 pcs apricots
4 pcs nectarines
½ lemon, juiced
150ml brewed, cooled black tea:
– 1 tsp loose black tea
– 150ml hot water
2 tbsp syrup
Optional: ice cubes/ crushed ice
For the tea brew 1 teaspoon of black tea with 150ml hot water for about 5 minutes. Take the leaves out / tea bag and put the tea in the fridge so it can cool down.
Wash the apricots and the nectarines, and cut them into small pieces.
Mix the fruit pieces, black tea, and lemon juice and blend it until everything is well combined and smooth.
Taste test the smoothie. If you want to have it more sweet add some syrup. I added 2 tablespoons of syrup.
If you don’t have a high-speed blender and you don’t want pieces of the fruits peel in your smoothie put it through a sieve.
Serve it chilled or with some ice cubes/ crushed ice.
